Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the living personhood of God, not manifested in a fleshly body—that manifestation was Jesus—but manifested nonetheless as the full personality and identity of God resident in us as believers. The Spirit of the living God is not a “force.” He is Somebody. If anyone ever asks you, “Who is the Holy Spirit?” I hope you will be quick to respond, “He is a person of the Trinity—He is God the Holy Spirit.” And immediately, I hope you add, “He is God’s Promise to me, God’s gift
